How Love Cure An Incurable Illness

Here again, we can see how the power of love accomplishes its perfect design. The daily life of a man in his forties actually a relative of mine was seriously handicapped by an illness called “hemorrhaging rectocolitus.” He had been living with this problem for two years, but medical science was unfortunately unable to help him, as there was no medical treatment available. We were in the early summer at the time, and despite following a very stringent diet for one year, he showed no sign of improvement.

On the 11th of July, he was scheduled for new tests--a colonoscopy--in order to monitor the evolution of the illness. During the test, the examining doctor told him that the illness had spread by 15 centimeters. He recommended an ablation of the affected organ, which would have impaired him in his daily activities.

He returned from the hospital in a terrible mood, constantly railing against the doctor, whom he blamed for his pain. Seeing him in this condition, I urged him to stop complaining, pointing out that it wouldn’t improve his condition, quite the contrary, it would just make it worse. I beseeched him to agree to stop blaming his illness on the doctor or anyone else. I told him that, in fact, he was the one responsible for it, and that if he had allowed the power of God to act on him, he would be cured. (Some time prior to that, I had prayed for his recovery). Once again, I made it clear to him that he could be healed through the power of God’s Love, but that in order for that to happen, he would need an unshakable faith to allow the transcendental power of Love to cure him. I told him that I would pray once again for his recovery but that this time, he would have to agree to take in the energy of my prayers.

My spiritual endeavor lasted for quite some time and then, I felt within my soul, that the healing had begun within him (we lived in different cities). In August, he came to tell me that the symptoms had disappeared, but I advised him to undergo medical tests in order to be sure. He took the test on September 9, and the colonoscopy showed that there were no longer any traces of the illness and that the affected organ was perfectly healthy. At the beginning of his recovery, this man (a non believer) acknowledged that it was the power of God that had healed him. And yet, two months later, he had totally forgotten this Divine intervention. I am telling you these facts to demonstrate to you that the power of God is at work under all circumstances. All we need is to invoke it with faith, Love and humility and we can attain the perfect life.
